The Umilissima ashtray mirrors the foundation of the aerial sketch of Maltaís capital,Valletta, formally referred to as Citta Umilissima. The city’s streets are aligned in a grid-like layout as designed by Laparelli. This design is said to have been chosen to allow the sea breeze to flow through the city streets and lower the heat during the humid summertime. Such division of the city layout in various blocks still regulates contemporary Valletta to this day. This building foundation ashtray is a modern piece of art, and can be used for smoking cigarettes, cigars and incense burning alike
